Server woes: no email

Unfortunately, I’m having some problems with the server hosting my blog and it can’t send out emails. So, all notifications for new posts and comments are not working. The RSS feeds are working, so please use those to keep up to date on my blog. I apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for reading.

Actually, this is a problem with a bogus (false positive) listing on the composite blacklist. Email blacklisting is an archaic and dangerous practice being clung to by a small number of organizations in order to legitimize to their control over the flow of information on the internet.

These blacklists are intended to stop spam. If you get as much spam as I do, you will realize that this strategy is not working.

A lot of spam is from gmail, hotmail and yahoo, including the infamous “Nigerian” scams, and yet these organizations don’t have their IP addresses blacklisted.

IP Blacklisting is nothing more than gestapo tactics on the web.
